Effective residue management for first tillage

The Wil-Rich 657 is designed for the first tillage pass, effectively managing crop residue and starting the decomposition process. With its robust construction and versatile attachments, this machine significantly improves soil conditions, setting the stage for subsequent tillage and planting.

Fall residue management

The Wil-Rich 657 helps dislodge root balls and bury residue to start the decomposition process, making seedbed preparation more manageable in the spring.

Soil mixing

Specialized shanks on the Wil-Rich 657 mix the upper soil profile to help create finer tilth in hard, heavy soils.

Shallow compaction management

The discs and shanks on the Wil-Rich 657 can break up compaction layers in the upper soil profile to help improve water infiltration and root growth.

Features may include:

Excellent agronomic performance

Preparing your fields with the Wil-Rich 657 sets the stage for effective soil management. This machine is designed to handle high residue conditions, mix soil for finer tilth, and break up shallow compaction layers. By integrating these tasks into one efficient pass, the Wil-Rich 657 improves seedbed preparation, enhances water infiltration, and promotes healthier root growth.

Versatile and customizable for efficient soil preparation

The Wil-Rich 657 is ideally suited for the first tillage pass in high residue conditions. The split-the-middle design offsets the straight coulters 19 cm (7½ in) from the tines to dislodge root balls and efficiently start the decomposition process. This machine is perfect for farmers looking to prepare their fields for planting by effectively managing crop residue.

Discs or coulters for residue management

Choose between concave discs or straight coulters. The concave discs are 56 cm (22 in) in diameter, allowing for a maximum working depth of 13 cm (5 in). They are spaced 38 cm (15 in) apart and are offset from the shanks. The straight coulters are offset and indexed to the shanks for a 19 cm (7½ in) working pattern. The front discs/coulters can be hydraulically raised and lowered for varying residue conditions.

Shovels for efficient residue mixing

Three ranks of heavy-duty shanks are engineered to mix in residue, loosen soil, and shatter compaction up to 25 cm (10 in) deep. Choose between four types of shovels: spike, chrome straight spike, or twisted concave spike (left or right). They are designed to efficiently bury and mix crop residue, enhancing the decomposition process. This ensures that residue is thoroughly incorporated into the soil, improving soil structure and fertility.

Trips engineered for strength and durability

Wil-Rich 657 trips are engineered for maximum strength and durability to minimize downtime, with an industry-leading trip pressure of 635 kg (1,400 lbs). The high trip pressure helps maintain depth in tough soil conditions while preventing damage from rocks or other obstructions.

Strong and stable frame

The Wil-Rich 657 features a 10.1 x 15.2 x 1 cm (4 x 6 x 3/8 in) tubular frame that provides strength and stability. The large 15 x 10 cm (6 x 4 in) main frame supports the overall structure, ensuring durability and reliable performance in various soil conditions.
